My name is Mark, I’ve spent the last 5 years serving as an attorney in the United States Army.  I had the opportunity to serve my country in both Iraq and Afghanistan and see what our military does first hand.  After seeing what the troops in uniform do, I can say that our military is comprised of an amazing group of individuals and it truly was an honor to work with these men and women.

I am proud of my time serving my country as an attorney and now I’m looking forward to serving the people of Columbus.  I am opening up a tax service dedicated to excellence and to creating a more pleasant experience for those who file income taxes

Opening a tax service is a natural fit for me.  I have an accounting background and I took every tax course offered during my time in law school.  I also ran a tax center while I was in the military and was responsible for over 5,300 returns and $14 million of refunds.  I admit I have an aversion to H&R Block and Hewitt Jackson, they seem more like DMV’s then professional establishments.  It’s this mix which caused me to decide to open a tax service.  I know that with better training, better service and a better product, our tax service is On-the-Mark to serve Columbus.

Here is my better half.  Joanie is from Cleveland, Ohio.  She has been serving our country for over six-teen years as an officer in the United States Army.  She has been stationed at various locations to include Taegu, Korea,      Mannhiem, Germany and the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York.  She deployed to Iraq in June of 2004 until July of 2005. 

Joanie worked tirelessly as the Battalion Support Operations Officer while in Iraq.  Upon her return, Joanie was appointed as the Executive Officer for the 210 Brigade Support Battalion in the 2nd Brigade of the 10th Mountain Division. This placed her second in command of over 800 soldiers.  This job was an excellent fit as it placed her in a unique position to be able to take care and provide for the Soldiers while ensuring the entire brigade accomplished their mission. This assignment demanded a tremendous amount of time, energy and fortitude which Joanie provide with a smile and the utmost degree of care. 

This down to earth officer has done and will do a tremendous job for her country.  She is currently on a short list to be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel which will occur while she is here in Columbus Ohio.  She looks forward to watching On-the-Mark take care of the residents of Columbus as she has taken care of her Soldiers.
